The Tragically Unhip
{a blog with three fingers on the pulse of uncoolness.}
There are several existing websites—hipstersareannoying.com, diehipster.com—that make fun of hipsters or are decidedly anti-hipster. We at the Tragically Unhip take a different approach by not making fun of the cool people, but rather make fun of ourselves for not being cool. We are those whose self-deprecating humour about our admittedly nerdish hobbies and/or failed social and romantic endeavours almost make us cool by default, and we want to share the whole embarrassing thing with you.
There are millions of people who feel that they are on the outside looking in when it comes to the elusive quality that is coolness. The Tragically Unhip appeals to all the awkward people who are still cool but not necessarily hip enough to be invited to album launches or to fashion shows or to be on the guest list at all the hot parties.
Our blog features self-conscious musings and other witty writings dealing with pop culture, city life, the arts, current events, sex, and society—but always written from the point of view of someone who is not quite part of “the scene.” The blog’s tone is funny and tongue-in-cheek, and we never take ourselves too seriously.
The Tragically Unhip has your daily dose of uncool, so be sure to check in often!
